Men's Group Closes Out a Successful 2016

by Michael Connery on January 13, 2017
On a Monday night at the end of December, amidst a full and bustling St. Margaret’s, our Men’s Group met for a meal, fellowship, and our year-end meeting.

Special thanks goes out to our very own Mike Wintroath, the staff photographer for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, for his presentation of some of his favorite works, his great stories, and information about the great (and Natural) state we are blessed to live in.

A recap of 2016…

St Margaret’s men have:

+Cooked 12 Second Sunday breakfasts
+Prepared and hosted one Catfish Dinner for ~100 people
+Supported the annual Independence Day event by setting up, cooking, and cleaning up after the event.
+Coordinated what we think was the 9th edition of the Rock for Camp fundraising event for Camp Mitchell.
+Supported the St. Margaret’s 25th anniversary celebration by installing the new cross and preparing Williams Hall for the event.
+Supported the October 26th ITSSM Symposium – How God Changes your Brain by setting up for the event.
+Provided and cooked the main course for the January St. Francis House Veteran’s meal.
+Participated in the St. Margaret’s Adopt-a-Road program.

Through the support of the congregation and the efforts of the men of the church, we happily report that we have met all of our charitable goals for 2016:

$1000 to the general operating fund of Camp Mitchell
$900 (3 scholarships) for the Robert R. Brown camp for adults with developmental challenges
$250 St Francis House Angel Tree donation
$250 Salvation Army Angel Tree donation

And, one last item, a check for $400 will be given to the Reverend Mary Vano this month for use in her discretionary fund to assist those in need.

Thank you to Alf Williams for keeping us balanced and moving throughout the year.
