In Loving Memory of Estelle Rutledge

by anonymous on March 22, 2016
Estelle Rutledge, age 93, died on March 15, 2016.  For many years, Estelle was a faithful member of St. Margaret's, until it became too far for her to drive.  Since then, she has made Union AME her church home.  Her daughter, Cheryl Crutcher, is still an active member of St. Margaret's.

Following the traditions of Union AME, St. Margaret's was invited to submit a "Resolution of Respect" for her funeral.  Please continue to hold Cheryl in your prayers.

Resolution in Loving Memory of Estelle Rutledge

In sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ, we commend to Almighty God our sister, Estelle Juanita Rutledge.

Whereas, Estelle helped to establish the new community of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church by her faithful membership for many years; and,

Whereas, she served the Lord lovingly at his Table as a member of the Altar Guild; and,

Whereas, Estelle’s daughter, Cheryl Crutcher, remains a constant and generous member of our community,

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the rector, vestry, and parishioners of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church send their heartfelt condolences to Estelle’s family and to the community of Union AME Church, as we join them in prayer:

O God, who by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ destroyed death, and brought life and immortality to light: Grant that your servant Estelle, being raised with him, may know the strength of his presence, and rejoice in his eternal glory; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be given to the family, and a copy kept in the church archives.

HUMBLY SUBMITTED on March 18, 2016.
The Rev. Mary Vano
Rector
St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church
