Maundy Thursday![]() The service commemorates the Maundy, or Commandment, to "love one another, even as I have loved you," the footwashing, and the Last Supper of Jesus with the disciples. The service concludes with the stripping of the altar, symbolizing the abandonment of Jesus by his disciples and the stripping of his clothes after his arrest. |
The Watch ![]() "Can you not watch with me one hour?" Immediately following the Maundy Thursday service on April 17th, St. Margaret's will hold a continuous "watch" in the House of Prayer, just as Jesus' disciples remained with him in the Garden of Gethsemane before his arrest. The Watch will begin about 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, and will conclude at noon in time for the Liturgy of Good Friday. Please consider signing up to watch and pray for one hour in the House of Prayer during that time. A sign-up sheet will be available at St. Margaret's, or you can email Katherine Strother to let us know when you will participate. Please note that for safety, we will make sure that at least two people are signed up for each hour of the night. |
