Annual Meeting Recap
by The Rev. Mary Vano on February 2, 2023After the Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 22, one newcomer gave her feedback: "Before the meeting, I had never heard the St. Margaret's mission statement. But, as we read it in the meeting, I realized how much this community truly lives out its mission." I received that as a compliment to all in our church who help to make this a welcoming and faithful community of Christ-followers!
At the Annual Meeting this year, we gave thanks for Boyd Hutchins, Anna Morshedi, and Adam Sullivan, all of whom have now completed a three-year term on the vestry. Elected in January of 2020, this group really had their work cut out for them as we made our way through the pandemic! We're so grateful for their leadership.
We also gave thanks for Alf Williams, who has served as our volunteer Facilities Manager for the last 18 months. Alf is retiring from this position, and we remain grateful for all that he has done and continues to do for this community.
We then elected three new vestry members: Ronnie Beggs, Katherine Black, and Dee Sadler. John Adams will serve again as our Senior Warden. Ronnie Beggs was elected by the vestry to be the Junior Warden. Brian Black and Elizabeth Fortune were both re-elected for a second year as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively.
As always, we have a lot to celebrate at St. Margaret's, with a few challenges to focus on in the coming year. If you missed the Annual Report, you can learn more about the state of the church here.
