March 19, 2008 Vestry Meeting Highlights

Clergy Report

Capital Campaign.  Calls are being made to each family by the team.  Cottage meetings have been scheduled for select groups.

The campaign has raised approximately $1.4 million to date.  The Vicar went over the challenge grant: when St. Margaret’s has raised $2 million dollars the grant threshold will be met.  From that point forward, each dollar raised by St. Margaret’s will be matched (dollar for dollar) up to $1 million.

Canon Bosmyer told the Vestry that St. Margaret’s has received approximately $1,022,000 and the Vestry approved paying off the first mortgage, line of credit and diocesan loans.

Wardens’ Reports

Sr. Warden

Mark Fortune thanked all who helped on the March 15th work day.  The church and grounds were in good shape for Holy Week and Easter.

The Sr. Warden confirmed that Keith Jackson will be the Independence Day Speaker.  Mr. Jackson is a former pro football player who played with the Green Bay Packers.

Jr. Warden

The roof is still in need of repairs due to the high winds in February.  Stanley Shulte Construction is scheduled to do an assessment before the end of April.  B & R plumbing will be replacing the hot water tank.

The exterior walls and sidewalks at the main entrances were power-washed.

Business Needing Action
