Blessing of the Animals

This is a cheerfully chaotic event, held annually at St Margaret's on the Sunday closest to October 4.

People bring all kinds of animals to be blessed.

Both human and animal treats are served, personalized certificates are given,
and there is much sniffing, licking, and milling about!

Most of the animals are dogs, but we have also blessed cats,
snakes, hamsters, chickens, horses, and walking sticks
(it was climbing up the wall to the church, so was blessed in transit).
